How it all began and why everything is the way it is today? Here you can discover the sometimes rocky and complicated, but always beautiful and enriching path of the Residence Montani. Curious? Sometimes it took luck, sometimes a lot of perseverance and energy. But what was always needed was the will to build a sustainable residence and to maintain it. That is why the Residence Montani is successfully managed today by the third generation. And action!

Carnival 1974: The mayor of Latsch at that time whispered our grandpa Heinz in the early morning hours in the ear that for a short time still the possibility would exist to build apartments on a correspondingly large property. As soon as the carnival night was slept off and the thoughts were again sorted Grandpa Heinz called the mayor, in order to clarify, how that was with the building agricultural green. The plan for the 8 apartments was submitted to the municipality shortly thereafter and approved by them.

April 1974: With the building permit in the pocket, the construction started on the land that Grandpa Heinz had bought from our great-grandmother.

May/June 1974: The joy was not of long duration. Due to a formal error, the construction was stopped again shortly after it had started.

Shortly thereafter, some state laws changed and construction continued. Instead of 8 apartments, now even 12 could be built.

June 1975: There was a reason to celebrate: The Residence Montani was finished. Welcome family Feuer! The first family was warmly welcomed by grandma Hanni, who always actively assisted our grandpa.

For the billing, the guests regularly had to drive a few minutes by car, because our grandma had to manage a second, separate business in the industrial area in Latsch.

How did family Feuer book? She wrote a letter. From time to time, the vacation apartment, which was always booked for longer than a week, was also confirmed by telephone. Mostly, however, the offer and confirmation were sent by mail. Deposits? Were sent by mail with a check. Good things take time!

1987: Big news: From now on there was also an outdoor pool for the guests.

In this year, Grandpa Heinz now handed over the business to mum Karoline.

1996: The existing 12 vacation apartments were extended by a residential house and another 5 apartments.

2002: The former swimming pool was replaced by an indoor pool, the large lounge was added, as well as a wellness area with steam bath and Finnish sauna.

2010: It was time for a renovation: new furniture and new kitchens modernized the appearance of the vacation apartments.

2015: To give guests more space, the vacation apartments were extended with a spacious balcony, others received dormers.

November 2017: A big investment and a very good decision was the installation of the photovoltaic system for the production of renewable energy. Not only the photovoltaics were new, but also the windows were replaced.

2019: Now it was time to work on the outdoor area: the sunbathing lawn was extended, a large playground for our little guests was built, as well as a washing station for the bikes, as well as a soccer and volleyball field.

2020: To offer our guests a perfect start to the day, the breakfast room was equipped with a new buffet.

2021: To be always up to date, some bathrooms were renewed.

2022: It was urgently needed and is now indispensable: The new reception.

November 2022: Just before the end of the year, we kicked things off with a fresh restyling – the holiday apartments got a new color concept and a completely new look.

January 2023: We kept the momentum going into the new year – several bathrooms got a fresh makeover and now shine in a whole new light.

May 2024: Big news – and we mean really big! Two brand-new, standalone buildings with a total of seven stylish holiday apartments across two floors are now ready for you. On top of that: two sky terraces with lounge areas and a whirlpool, a new parking area with driveway, fresh changing rooms with lockers, a fully equipped gym, and a brand-new bike cellar. Sounds like an upgrade? We think so too!

December 2025: Everything new by...December! Just in time for Christmas, we treated ourselves (and you!) to something really special: a completely new bar and breakfast area is here – more modern, more cozy, and simply... wow!
