That’s how it goes

At check-in or even during pre-check-in, you’ll conveniently receive your digital Südtirol Guest Pass Vinschgau by email. Here are the key facts:

The ticket is tied to your name and your stay period.
Valid from 12:00 AM on your arrival day until 11:59 PM on your departure day.
Every trip starts with a validated ticket – so don’t forget to validate it!
Tickets are only issued to guests aged 6 and up.
And very important: selling or passing it on? Nope, that’s a no-go.

Well connected

To the other corner of South Tyrol? No problem! The Südtirol Guest Pass entitles you to use local public transport operated by südtirolmobil.

The Venosta Valley train and all other regional trains in South Tyrol: Brennero-Trento, Malles-San Candido/Versciaco (marked with an R in the timetable). All local buses, i.e. city (urban) and intercity buses, are included. But also the PostBus Switzerland between Malles and Müstair (CH), as well as line 273 Malles-Landeck as far as the Pfunds/Kajetansbrücke (AT) stop. The cable cars Renon, Colle, Meltina and Verano and also the Mendola funicular take you up high. Or would you rather treat yourself to a ride on the tramway of Renon and the funicular to the Mendola?

Here’s how it works!

To travel stress-free with your Südtirol Guest Pass, just follow one simple rule: Always validate it before each trip! Here’s how:

Scan the QR code – Hold your pass close to the blue validation device.
Wait for the "OK" on the display – Plus a beep sound, and you’re good to go!
Don’t hold it too close – Otherwise, it might not scan properly.

For train rides: Validate before boarding, at the station.
If changing trains: Validation is only required at the start of your journey.
On certain routes, the pass serves as a visual ticket:
273 (Malles – Pfunds/Kajetansbrücke)
335 (Moso in P./Plan – Obergurgl)
811 (Malles – Müstair/Border)

Cycling around – here’s how to do it

To bring your bike on regional trains and buses with bike racks, you’ll need a bike day ticket. Since the number of spots is limited, it’s best to check in advance!

Our tip: Simply rent a bike on-site or use the Bike-Shuttle – this way, you can travel comfortably and without stress.

Traveling with animals

We warmly welcome your four-legged companions! A separate ticket is required for traveling with animals. Please note that dogs must wear a muzzle.

Guide dogs for the blind and small animals that are securely held in your arms are exempt from the ticket requirement.

More trains, more travel options

Since 21 June 2026, there’s good news: train services on the Vinschgau Railway are being expanded step by step! Trains between Merano and Lasa will continue to run every hour, while the new electric trains will gradually begin operating on the Lasa–Malles section. Even better, some early morning and evening services will once again run directly from Merano to Malles.

To keep you travelling with ease, the B250 rail replacement bus service between Merano and Malles will continue to operate every 30 minutes.

And the best part? If you have the Südtirol Guest Pass, you can use the replacement service for free. Just remember to validate it at the station or on the bus.
